Hello, and welcome to WG!
Please read this page if you're interested in seeing the
project reach the light of day.
If you've been with us for a while, I'm sure you know our past history and attempts to get started. I'm proud to announce that the past is behind is, and we're now closer than ever to our goal!
Thanks to Solus, Fiftysixer, and O-day, we've now got a beautiful and functional website. The only thing we don't have is much content to go on that site.
But now we're at the most critical part of the job - content development. And that's where we really need help. I've stated before, but I'd like WG to be a place where people can learn just about anything related to computer security. A place to learn, and to try hands-on and realistic simulations to help cement what you've learned and how to apply it. Not a contest to see who can get the most points and complete the most challenges, but a place to learn and to teach.
And that's where the main difference between WG and similar sites lie - we're more focused on the educational and hands-on part of it. We're not looking for wannabe hackers and script kiddies - we're targed at the people who want to and actually can learn (yes, that means 'idiot-filters'!). And we need help from people who know their stuff.
If you're particularly skilled in any area, be it web hacking, *nix systems, cryptography, etc, we need you! If you're looking for a place to share your skills and learn new stuff at the same time, here it is.
We're looking for people to submit articles and tutorials, challenges (little hands-on puzzles to teach particular concepts), missions (more in-depth and realistic that combine several skill sets), and whatever else you can offer.
It's been far too long, and I'd like to get this site finally released. If you're interested in helping out, please contact me either on IRC or at fiftysixer<at>gmail<dot>com. Thanks!

You can find us at irc.wargaming.org in #wargaming.
SSL for IRC is on port 6697.
If you're interested in joining the WarGaming staff team, please contact fiftysixer on IRC.
We especially need developers to help create web and shell challenges and missions, and for some help on the shell-based wargames (CTF, RTB, etc).
A huge thanks goes out to: NightQuest, Soky, Xeno, Faith, H4xlemur, & Epoch_qwert for helping out with challenges and site coding!
Even though they're not current WG staff, their contributions have helped us significantly.
